Di Hickman Card Sketch - April #1

This is the card I made with Di's recently posted sketch, and is featured as one of the examples on her site... I am really chuffed!

Managed to do a spot of ribbon and flower sorting this morning, how tidy it will stay... who knows? Used up every clear plastic take-away box I could find! Part of my reduce, reuse and recycle drive! who needs to buy expensive storage solutions when they can be found in everyday throw-away items!

Also finally got front garden tidied, it was becoming the worst kept one in our street! Bought some purple pansies and a yellow Dahlia to go in - as choosen by Luke! The weather has been gorgeous today, I hope it stays for the weekend!

Anyway... Heres the card! It has already been used to say thank you to a lovely lady who donated an electric breast pump to our Breastfeeding Support Project.

Ingredients: Anna Griffin paper, Prima flower on a Organza Hydrangea from Hobby Craft, Fiskars scallop scissors, Organza ribbon and Porcelain font for the "Thank".

Playing with Page Maps and cardboard shields!

I've been working on a few cards... been fortunate enough to get Di Hickman's sketches ahead of shedule, so I can't show you those until she releases them!

Have also been exploring Page Maps and getting loads of ideas. So here are a couple of cards...

Ingredients: Anna Griffin papers, my freebie, Clever Cut stamp, button, ribbon, Blooms to Go and Prima flower.

Ingredients: Brenda Walton paper, flower punchies, my freebie - again! and Blooms to go flower.

School holidays, so trying to do something different with the boys each day, as Luke has told me its boring to do the same thing every day! Luke announced he wanted to make a sword and a shield last night, and as soon as he woke up he wanted to get started! Managed to stall him till after breakfast and after getting him dressed. I was of course still in my PJ's! I think Ethan thinks that the coloured water in the jar IS the paint, hence is more watercolour effect!

Baby no 2 is 2!!!

It was Ethan's birthday today.

Didn't get off to a great start when he managed to fall off a chair and give himself a nose bleed and swollen top lip! We had church in the morning, family service as it was Palm Sunday, Luke managed to be brave enought o stick his hand up and answer some questions. It ws so sweet to see him singing his heart out to "Jesus, the king is Risen" as he had learnt that song in school.

We then went to a friends for lunch with lots of other people, it was lovely and sunny, we sat out opening and playing with some presents, and Luke had a ride on our friends horse.

This is my fave pic of the day, Ethan figuring his own way to play with part of his new toy!

Yesterday we went to Lake Vyrnwy, I had to pop some more cards into the craft shop there.. they have a new website... here.

They have an amazing sculpture park, love this pic of luke, he just loves his Spiderman costume!

Monocromatic / Di Hickman sketch #7

Thought I'd kill two birds with one stone again, I loved the monocromatic dare from DCM, but was a bit stuck for a layout, so decided to use the latest Di Hickman sketch, very useful!

I was very good, sticking very closely to the stict one colour scheme, I even managed to cover up the silver coloured staples! Do I get extra points girls?

Ingredients: Anna Griffin papers and stamps, Label punchies, organza and satin ribbon, staples and Fiskars scallop edged scissors.

Having a busy blogging day today!

Had another go at the Wednesday Stamper challenge, it was to use colour on a stamped image.

Going out of my comfort zone again I stamped an image and then coloured it in with my good old watercolour pencils then brushed over with water to paint it in..

Ingredients: Anna Griffin stamps, Derwent water colour pencils, Fiskars wide scalloped scissors and some gems.
